The project “Incubator of Innovation 2.0” contributed to the financing of 9 selected R&D works. Today we present the pre-implementation work entitled “Innovative solutions for the stabilization of reference spheres on the ground surface and on balustrades and handrails”, headed by Dr. Eng. Maria Makuch.
The subject of R&D works were steel reference spheres used in the technology of terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) with devices for their stabilization on the ground surface (R1) and on balustrades and handrails (R2). As a result of the pre-implementation works, R1 and R2 reached the IX TRL level – all their elements have been refined and constitute ready production versions.
The solutions were validated in the target environment with the use of four laser scanners, which confirmed the possibility of their use in the practice of end users. A trial series of prototypes made in the target production technology was tested in laboratory and real conditions, showing a number of benefits from their implementation. The main competitive advantage is the full functionality of the solutions, both in the process of registration and georeferencing of point clouds, as well as their ergonomics, allowing for any geometrical configuration of reference objects in space. The small size, material durability and attractive price of the solutions, which facilitate transport, also need to be emphasized.

The aim of the project “Incubator of Innovation 2.0” is to support the process of managing the results of scientific research and development works, in particular with regard to their commercialization. The implementation of the program should contribute to the promotion of scientific achievements, increasing their impact on the development of innovation and strengthening cooperation between the scientific community and the economic environment.
The project called “Incubator of Innovation 2.0” is carried out as part of an out-of-competition project “Support for the management of scientific research and commercialization of R&D results in research units and enterprises” under the Intelligent Development Operational Program 2014-2020 (Measure 4.4). The total value of the Project is PLN 1,210,000.
