On February 5, 2021, two information meetings will be held regarding the Competitions “Grant for Innovations – Edition II” and “Startup School UR”. The meetings are directed to Team Managers who qualified to participate in the Pre-implementation Work carried out as part of the “Grant for Innovations – Edition II” competition and in workshops carried out as part of the “Startup School UR” competition. The event will be held ONLINE via the MS TEAMS application. The action is implemented as part of the “Incubator of Innovation 4.0” project, implemented at the University of Agriculture in Krakow.
The first meeting will concern formal and organizational matters related to the implementation of the “Grant for Innovations – Edition II” competition. During the meeting, the main principles of Grants implementation will be discussed, which will be implemented by the University’s research and development teams from this spring. In particular, topics related to the procedure of making purchases planned in the Grant budgets will be discussed, as well as the supervisors of the Pre-Implementation Works.
During the second meeting, the rules of participation in the “Startup School UR” workshops will be presented, in which research and development teams will take part, wishing to raise their knowledge and competences in the field of innovative tools and methods of building startup teams and creating business plans. This knowledge will be crucial during the completion of the Pre-implementation Works, i.e. at the time of establishing spin-off companies.

The aim of the “Grant for Innovation – Edition II” competition is to finance projects aimed at commercialization of the results of scientific research of employees and research teams of the University of Agriculture in Krakow. The funds will be allocated to pre-implementation works and adapting the technology to market demand by increasing its TRL level. The maximum amount of funding under the “Grant for Innovations – Edition II” competition is PLN 100,000.00 net for one pre-implementation work. The competition is co-financed from the non-competition program “Support for the management of scientific research and commercialization of R&D results in research units and enterprises” under the Intelligent Development Operational Program 2014-2020.

The aim of the “Startup School UR” workshops is to support University employees and research teams working for science. Participants will gain experience and knowledge needed to create the foundations of their own business. They will receive support in the form of a series of trainings related to: team building, strategic and operational activities, running a company (building the company’s strategy, business models, business presentations). The training will also cover legal and accounting issues related to running your own business.
The organizers are: University of Agriculture in Kraków through the University’s Technology Transfer Center and the Innovation Center of the University of Agriculture in Kraków Ltd.
The program called “Incubator of Innovation 4.0” implemented as part of the non-competitive project entitled “Support for the management of scientific research and commercialization of R&D results in research units and enterprises” under the Intelligent Development Operational Program 2014 – 2020 (Measure 4.4).
